About the festival

The Cambridge Poetry Festival will create a vibrant, inclusive platform to celebrate Cambridgeshire’s diverse poetry community. We will be engaging with schools and young people through workshops, competitions, and events in order to help to nurture the next generation of Cambridge’s writers. Poetry is, by its very nature, personal as well as universal and in an effort to reflect this, the charity will collaborate with local institutions to strengthen community ties, while simultaneously maintaining a wider-reaching focus by inviting poets from further afield to take part in our workshops and events. Street performances will feature as an integral part of our work in order to further increase the festival’s reach in the heart of the city. The Cambridge Poetry Festival aims to unify Cambridgeshire’s writers and strives to make poetry relevant, impactful, welcoming, and accessible in order to showcase its power to resonate with everyday life for the people of Cambridgeshire.
